KC Irish Genealogy Story

Speaking of Irish place names, Katie McKenna Raymond, a KC based woman of some Irish flavouring, writes on Fallible.com, of Feebaghbane in Monaghan.

It's a genealogical story nearing a happy ending. After much work Katy has traced the townland where her father's father was born, and later this month McKenna country in the north of Ireland will be visited again by Katy and her husband.

The story of Irish Bernard McKenna born in 1884, with an American grand-daughter now here in our KC midst, is touchingly told by Katy, and means even more if you read more of Katy's blog. Indeed, with a name like Fallible, how can you criticize it?

Update: KC Irish Genealogy Story (Part 2)

Handy Irish Phrase: Is é do mhac do mhac inniú, ach is í d'iníon d'iníon go deo   (Your son is your son today, but your daughter is your daughter forever)
